Topic for the Day: Beauty led by Cyndi Philkill Doty
"In a wounded world beauty is a rare element. It's not that beauty is nonexistent or that aesthetics are rejected, it's just that when you're in the swamp up to your armpits in alligators, it is hard to take time to "smell the roses!" Nevertheless, a sense of beauty is desperately important, and faith in art and beauty matter most when our neighborhoods and our relationships are full of toxic waste. In October we will be exploring life's beauty in all its forms and its ability to help us see beyond the confusing strands of the threads of our lives to the beauty of the tapestry of life as a whole.
Participants are asked to bring with them a piece of art or music, a story or experience that has, or continues to represent beauty amidst the storms of your life.
Time: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

9:30 to 11:45 - Teaching, Discussion, Activities & Personal Reflection
11:45 to 12:30 - Lunch
12:30 to 1:45 - Group Sharing & Discussion
1:45 to 2:00 - Closing Circle
